TechWars: Global Conflict is the world’s first isometric mecha PVP-Action with direct control. Apart from the simple reaction speed, to win in every battle, you will need an impeccable sense of tactics and ability to skillfully use weapons, robots, and peculiarities of the landscape of the area. With these skills, you will be able to destroy dozens of enemies!
Despite everything that science tells us, giant bipedal robots remain a favourite in all sorts of media, from Transformers to battle-tech and all points in between. There’s something just intrinsically cool about a massive robot with big guns shooting at other massive robots, even though in real life a bipedal robot wouldn’t be a lot of help in a war!
These bipedal mechs have ranged from man sized battle-suits ala Starship Troopers, to ten foot plus warmachines as in Warhammer 40K and then the really large ones as in Pacific Rim or Battletech. Battletech’s mechs serve as a particular point of reference for Techwars Global Conflict: lumbering mobile gun platforms that can deliver and take a hit from mounted heavy weapons. This stands in contrast to the superhero-style combat of the likes Evangelion or Gundam – our Techwars mechs walk through the landscape, firing big guns at each other. In my time playing the game, I never once saw an energy sword or shield.
Mechs are broken up into different categories or classes, including Scouts, Stormtroopers, Destroyers, Technicians, and Titans. Each class has its own specific expertise and may have up to two different mech designs within them. The different strengths and weaknesses are specifically designed by the developers to encourage team dynamics, inferring that it might be in your best interest to learn to play nice with others.
Techwars: Global Conflict’s content variety is definitely among its biggest strengths. The game has multiple different kinds of mechs that players can choose from and each individual mech is completely unique to play because they all have their own distinct designs and each one is backed by a unique technological skill that no other mech can have. The great thing about the mechs, though, is that they all feel very well balanced so, regardless of what you’re playing as, you’ll be able to have an impact on the game as long as you play properly. The game consists weapons and items as well that players can collect and use to upgrade their mechs for an additional edge in battle.
Techwars: Global Conflict is free to download and play but it does come with its fair share of micro-transactions through which players will be able to purchase bonus in-game content in exchange for real money.
